Your Coach
My name is Beate Brunow, and I founded New Paths Coaching and Consulting out of a passion for seeking collaborative solutions and co-creating approaches that can lead us toward our desired outcomes.
Originally from Germany, I have spent a significant part of my life in the US and have lived in Wyoming, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and I currently reside in Athens, Georgia. In my personal life, I value time with my husband and our dog, and I enjoy gardening, yoga, and quality time with good friends.
In my fifteen years in higher education, I have held positions as faculty member, educational developer, and administrator. My areas of interest and expertise include intercultural learning and educational and organizational development.
My Approach to Coaching
My strengths as a learner and as someone who seeks creative solutions through collaborative processes have drawn me to coaching. I see coaching as a process in which I work with the client to find their potential new paths. As part of the coaching process I’m not providing pre-formulated solutions, instead we collaborate to co-create solutions that work for you as the client and can make a difference in your life.
As a coach, I’m interested in how we might use your strengths (you have many!) to address an issue you would like to work on. Depending on each client’s individual needs and goals, we can decide to use various assessments to find out more about different aspects of your life as well as your strengths. We also explore potential forms of self-sabotage that might be holding you back. We all have critical voices insight of us that can steer us away from our goals. You as the client determine our agenda, and my role focuses on helping you identify the tools and strategies that will make a difference for you.
Coaching is not about fixing something that is wrong with a client and coaching is not about a client's past. In contrast to counseling, coaching is forward-looking and focused on discovery.
Ethics
As a professional coach and member of the International Coaching Federation, I acknowledge and agree to honor my ethical obligations to my coaching clients, colleagues and to the public at large. I pledge to comply with the ICF Code of Ethics and treat those with whom I come in contact with dignity and respect at all times.
